Photographs
The Institute on WWII has over 500 photographic collections. Some of the photo collections are from individuals who were photographers for the military. Most of the pictures though were taken by the everyday men and women serving their country. Many of the photographs are not documented and yet they can still speak for themselves. Like the picture of the kitten on the top right showing the vital role that pets played for the men and women while overseas. There are a variety of photographs of pets (fawn, monkey, kangaroo, dogs, lion, etc) in our individual collections.
Below are a few selection of summaries from our various photo collections housed in the Institute on WWII.
