Support Us

The Institute on World War II and the Human Experience respectfully requests individuals make a charitable gift in support of our program. The Institute is fortunate to receive recurring dollars from Florida State University including the salaries of the Institute Director and Administrative Assistant, as well as office expenses and funding for at least one graduate assistant to support administrative and processing projects.  However, private philanthropy plays a vital role in supporting our efforts beyond the University budget to safeguard our priceless collections of letters, diaries, photographs, visual arts, maps, and artifacts. Your gift will help our collections to be more accessible to scholars, students, journalists, and the general public. Our archivist, undergraduate assistants, and public projects rely on charitable contributions from FSU alumni, friends, and community members who wish to properly honor the legacy of those who served in WWII. Private gifts have supplemented the Institute’s University budget in recent years by providing funds for:

*A part-time archivist

*Stipends to several outstanding undergraduate assistants

*Hosting invited speakers and visiting scholars from around the world to participate in conferences and public lectures

*Travel funds to acquire new collections

*Visiting researchers to use our holdings

To leave a permanent legacy, by honoring the memory of a serviceperson or family member, we encourage you to consider establishing an endowment in perpetuity directed specifically to Institute on World War II and the Human Experience.  To ensure our collections are available to future generations, endowments are sought to fund the needs detailed above as well as support our semi-annual public lectures, and expand our travel grants and pre- and post-doctoral fellowships.
