Willie Mae Williams

Willie Mae Williams born in Archer, Florida, on October 23, 1912. In February 1943, Williams enlisted in the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps. She was one of the first black women from Hillsborough County to join the army. From 1943 to 1945, Williams worked as a hospital cook at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
