Philip L. Brinson served with the 450th Bomb Squadron, 322nd Bombardment Group (Medium) based in England as a Tail Gunner on a B-26 Martin Marauder.  He was killed in action along with the entire crew when the B-26 on which he was flying received flak damage on a mission over Europe and subsequently crashed into the English Channel on September 9, 1843

Sergeant Melvin Herbert Rupert served with the 127th Infantry Regiment, 32nd Infantry Division and was mortally wounded on July 26, 1944, near the Driniumor River in New Guinea. The following day, July 27, 1944, Melvin passed away at the age of 26. He is buried in the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial.

William D. Marshman 

William D. Marshman served in the U.S. Navy during World War I and World War II. During World War II, he was assigned to the destroyer U.S.S. Barton in the Pacific Theater of Operations. During a naval battle off Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands, the Barton was sunk on November 13, 1942 with one hundred sixty-four men aboard and forty-two survivors.  Marshman went down the the ship.
