Dorothy Fredrickson

Dorothy Fredrickson was born on July 25, 1924 in the town of Deposit, New York. Fredrickson enlisted in the Navy WAVES to honor her father, a Navy serviceman of both World Wars who had been declared missing in action following the battle of Guadalcanal in 1942. Following basic training at Hunter College in the Bronx, New York, Fredrickson worked at the Pacific Fleet Post Office in San Francisco, California as a section leader. In August 1946, Fredrickson was honorably discharged from the US Navy.
