Editha Shaw

Editha Anderson Shaw was born March 20, 1924 in the Bronx, New York. During high school, Shaw worked as a switchboard operator for AT&T. After graduation, Shaw worked full time at AT&T for a short time before joining the US Cadet Nurse Corps in June 1944. In the Cadet Nurse Corps, Shaw studied nursing at Riverside Hospital in Newport News, Virginia, graduating in 1947. Her specialty was in psychiatry. After the war, Shaw continued working as a nurse for forty years.
